Kate Winslet exposes the cruelty of Foie Gras

Considered a delicacy and served in many top restaurants around the world, foie gras is made from the engorged livers of ducks and geese. Tubes are shoved down the birds' throats several times a day to force-feed them grain and fat, which often punctures their throats, resulting in tissue damage and internal bleeding. Watch as Kate describes the horrors behind foie gras.

OVERALL RATING (of eating foie gras):

  1. Another disgusting example of the factory farm industry. I pledge never to eat foie gras or patronize a restaurant that serves it.

  2. That's a really fascinating link! Unfortunately, that is not how 99.999% of foie gras is made. I like this video because it asks us to find solutions IN nature for agriculture rather than forcing a solution ON nature. That's why we really love organic vegan food! Ecological food = ethical = best tasting.

  3. Never heard of this "delicacy", if you can even call it that, but I'm deeply grateful to be a high raw vegan. I just can't imagine myself eating anything that comes from an animal, bird or fish.

  4. Thanks Zoe! I agree that raw-vegan diet is best. Do you think that this ban on foie-gras will eventually trickle down to end the cruel treatment of animals on factory farms. For example this: http://www.allnaturale.org/2010/07/truth-about-dairy.html
