Here is the most recent list of these companies and their associated brands, with some of the biggest shockers in red. 1. everything still tests on animals. EVERYTHING. if something says it doesn't test on animals it's because it relied on old research that used animals instead of using newly testing with animals.

also, i love how the link to "Alternatives to animal testing" shows only ONE alternative to animal testing.

plus, unilever owns dove and unilever is known for extremely racist whitening cream commercials in india. which is why i find dove's campaign for beauty to be slightly hypocritical.

i'm not exactly surprised by any of these. it's not like these companies claim to protect the safety of animals.

pretty sure unilever owns axe too.

people get all upset about animals being used for cosmetic testing, but no one bats an eye that animals are used for clinical testing.

  2. So far, there are two alternatives to testing on animals directly: Cell Cultures and Computer Simulation.

The article posted describes these two procedures in depth. They are used in clinical trials (such as to simulate asthma), in military trials (such as to simulate hemorrhaging) and in cosmetic trials.

You are right, more work can be done to protect the safety of animals. Buying ALL NATURAL products that DON'T TEST ON ANIMALS is a start! :)

  3. Glad to say that I don't use any of these products (that I know of) except for Kleenex. Will never buy from them again!
